What shall i do? friend in need?

I have a friend who’s admitted to me to have made herself sick twice over the summer. She’s unhappy with her weight and i believe she may have done it more since. She takes diet pills that she bought form amazon, and doesnt eat breakfast or anything at school. I dont know what she eats when she gets home. She’s naturally big boned and curvy but no way overweight! After noticing scars, she’s admitted to me that she has self harmed. She also said she’s burnt herself once and tried to take an overdose. I dont know whats best to do because she thinks she’s fine and says she’ll deal with it herself. Shall i tell pastoral care at school? her mum? leave it ? help!

this is a very unhappy person and desperately wants some attention. Honestly, I’d tell your own mother/father. or guardian just so they know that you have tried to talk to her and let them tell you what they think. The best thing is for her parents to know what is going on with her so they can find and pay for the right treatment for her. If she doesn’t want treatment, she just wants the constant attention of having to be thought about all the time. Don’t worry and don’t waste your time so much on someone if they aren’t willing to grow up about their lives. It’s okay to diet since most girls do to an extent but cutting and self mutilation is a plea for help.
